Machay Pata comes from the extraordinarily remote Amaybamba Valley in Peru — a region SEY has been exploring for only two years, and 2026 marks their first season working directly with Carlos Saenz. The variety, referred to provisionally as SL9*, shows genetic similarity to SL09, a rare cultivar with Ethiopian lineage — though its precise fingerprint is still being mapped in collaboration with geneticists. In the cup: mango, jasmine, and lychee. A deeply expressive lot from one of specialty coffee's most compelling emerging origins.
